No.F.6166/4/10 of the 29th of June and to

transmit to you, to be laid before

Viscount Halifax, a copy of a despatch from

the Governor of Hong Kong regarding claims

which have been drawn up on behalf of the

British subjects involved in the sinking of

certain Hong Kong fishing junks by a

1937. Japanese war vessel in September of last

Secretary of State would suggest, for the

consideration of Lord Halifax, that His

Majesty's Ambassador in Tokyo should be

instructed to inform the Japanese Government

that His Majesty's Government cannot accept
